Have you ever considered how powerful our sense of smell is?    What do you think of when you smell fresh pine needles? What memories come flooding back when you smell fresh gingerbread cookies or apple pie?

 

Today we consider a story  in which Jesus’ friend Mary anointed his feet with expensive perfume and how this story might our relationships, centuries later.

As a boy, I remember cartoons that showed a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other as a way of depicting temptation.  By very definition, if something is tempting than it must be something that we personally find attractive or appealing.   Today, we talk about temptation, and how we move forward when we give in.  Come and take a listen.
